Azgreyhounds

Every year hundreds of young and healthy purebred
Greyhounds are in need of adoption after their time on the track is through.  Calm, gentle and eager to please, these graceful pets are quite comfortable giving up life in the fast lane. AZgreyhounds, Inc. is dedicated to the rescue
and adoption of these beautiful animals. In our local area, the group began operating in May 1996, and, to date has placed over 360 retired Greyhounds in loving homes.  AZgreyhounds is a 501 (c) (3), Non-Profit Organization (EIN 20-1181905). 

Donations are essential in ensuring we continue to place Greyhounds in loving homes. We have experienced
increased operating expenses this year, including significant increases in medical care costs, medication, food and gas. We are one of the few programs in the southwest that routinely accepts injured and sick hounds for rehabilitation. This significantly increases our expenses and the time a
Greyhound spends in our program until adopted.

All Greyhounds accepted and adopted through  AZgreyhounds are neutered or spayed, teeth cleaned, vaccinated for Rabies, distemper, Parvo, and influenza, tested for heartworm, Lyme disease and Ehrlichia, and given a complete physical and microchip, and new owners are provided a collar, lead, and identification tag.

AZgreyhounds serves all types of Greyhounds, and has established screening procedures for potential pet owners. All potential adopters, not having previously adopted from us, must go through a foster-to-adopt process
before adopting.
