$10,000 Goal

The mission of the Anderson County Humane Society, Inc, doing business as "BARC", is to offer refuge, care, nourishment, and a second chance for life to abandoned, injured, lost and mistreated animals. We are committed to the protection of all animals from cruelty, neglect, carelessness and ignorance. We will foster a sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward all animals. With education of the public, we will support enforcement of all laws concerning the welfare of animals and the promotion of responsible pet ownership. We will strive to eliminate the surplus of homeless animals by educating the public of the importance of sterilization. We will provide painless euthanasia.

BARC, The Anderson County Humane Society is a 501 C3 non-profit organization that serves the Anderson County, and is located in Palestine, Texas. We serve the community by providing low costs spay and neuter services, educational services, and work with the city and county to enforce the laws concerning animal welfare. We have achieved our status as a "no kill" shelter through our foster programs, rescue transports, and consistent efforts to adopt the animals that are in our care.

Testimonials

BARC has really turned things around in the last few years! The number of animals that are saved by the hard work of the volunteers, staff, and board members has been amazing. I have adopted from BARC and will continue to support them. Shelly M, Palestine, Tx
