Brothers and Sisters Emerging

To develop thriving youth and families in Garfield and other at-risk neighborhoods to find and take advantage of opportunities available to them.

Brothers and Sisters Emerging (B.A.S.E.) is a parent organization to the Garfield Youth Sports program (GYS) which started in 1994 and serves over 250 boys and girls ages 5 to 14 annually in football, cheerleading and basketball programs. B.A.S.E. offers mentoring for 75 boys and girls in the same age group. an after-school program and summer camp program is offered for youth ages 5 through 14 during which tutoring, arts, leadership development and cultural enrichment activities are offered. Brothers and Sisters Emerging is located at 5315 Hillcrest Street in the Garfield section of Pittsburgh and has been offering youth programming other than GYS since 2013.
