$40,000 Goal

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area is one of 230 affiliates across the nation that are committed to building the power and promise of today's youth. Since 1963, our local agency has cleared a path to the brightest possible future for children, ages 7 to 18, raised by single parents, grandparents, and foster families in Sacramento, Yolo, and South Placer counties. We operate under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life, and we work to develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Many of the children in our program lack a relationship with one or even both of their parents, have an incarcerated parent, or have multiple siblings competing for attention in their household. These children can sometimes get lost in the shuffle, and don't receive the focused attention of a trusted adult. Our children come from all walks of life and each deserves a positive role model to build their self-esteem, reach their full potential, and help them envision a successful future. In 2020, our Agency served over 206 families, however, we still have over 300 children waiting to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister.
