Burleson County Czech Heritage Museum

The Burleson County Czech Heritage Museum exists to preserve the stories and history of the Czech immigrants who settled in the Burleson County area as well as aiding in the continuation of Czech traditions, language, food, music, and culture.

We had about 1/3 of our roof blow off late Spring of 2023 during a severe storm in Caldwell. We have updated electrical, fixed roof, started our cataloging process, and have multiple other projects planned both with the physical museum building as well as the museum grounds. We are in the process of having a custom mural painted on the interior and doors, repairing and painting exterior siding, and have a need for an irrigation system for the grounds.

We host and facilitate a Heritage Day and a Pre-Kolache Festival Yard Party and Street Dance event for the community. Funds will help pay for needed supplies for making sauerkraut, grinding cornmeal & Czech polka band, wine making, noodle making, among other activities the Czech settlers would have participated in.
