Please help support low-cost childcare

For more than forty years, BICCC has provided high-quality childcare at low rates and extended hours, making our program perfect for working parents.

The pandemic caused our program a significant loss of revenue. Pre-pandemic, BICCC always had a wait list for its services. However, as parents lost work or transitioned to work-from-home due to Covid shutdowns, many families cut costs by managing childcare at home.

This caused tremendous upheavals in our enrollment, which has, in turn, negatively affected revenue. We estimate that we've lost $10,000/month since the start of the pandemic.

Covid-19 has devastated the childcare industry – an industry that was already in crisis. 13% of Washington childcare centers have closed due to Covid-19. In a May 2020 survey of Washington parents, nearly half of unemployed parents found childcare issues a barrier to seeking employment. Bainbridge Island childcare costs are particularly high.

BICCC, with our low rates and scholarship opportunities for low-income families, serves those whose financial situations are most delicate: one-parent households, low-income families, and families where parents work long or unusual hours.

BICCC is proud to provide affordable, trustworthy, and quality childcare to Bainbridge Island families. With your help, we can weather the tail-end of the pandemic and continue to care for Kitsap County children for another forty years!
