the Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania - FOSTER CARE | ADOPTION & PERMANENCY | FAMILY SERVICES
Help Us Turn Hurting Hearts into Big Smiles!!
The Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania offers a widespread range of services to children, youth and families in Western Pennsylvania. Since 1967, services have continually expanded to include not only out-of-home services, but in-home services designed to assist families in maintaining the cohesive unit necessary to prevent out-of-home placements. The Bair Foundation looks for unmet needs within the family and community to provide an opportunity to bridge the gap between crisis and healing.
Our services include Foster care, Medically Needy Foster Care, Community Residential Rehabilitation, Foster-to-Adopt, Adoption & Permanency Services, Medically Needy Adoption, Kinship Care, BEST for Children and Families, and Independent Living Services. We are an affiliate of the PA State Wide Adoption & Permanency Network (SWAN).
The Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania invests in the lives of young people who have experienced deep wounds and trauma from their abusive past. Your financial support could help purchase special items and services beyond food, clothing and shelter, which are not covered by foster care payments, for example: school clothes and supplies, braces, bicycles, special needs medical equipment, participation in sporting events or extracurricular activities, senior pictures, art supplies, musical instruments, dance lessons, sports equipment, driver's education, graduation expenses, transitional housing supplies, summer camp registrations, and so much more! Financial contributions to The Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania are tax-deductible and give foster youth the opportunity to be nurtured, educated and enriched just like other children - and grow into healthy, well-adjusted, confident adults.
In helping to secure the essential education, basic needs and social experience they deserve, we help kids in foster care discover their own resilience and strength. Thanks to the financial support of our community donors like YOU, we can give our children the same things that all children want and deserve... a safe, stable, permanent home, and a chance to THRIVE.
The Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania operates with genuine commitment to financial integrity and appropriate accountability. As members of the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) - established by Evangelist Billy Graham, we follow the guidelines for oversight and governance provided by this organization for our annual certification.
The Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania is accredited by The Council on Accreditation (COA). Accreditation attests that The Bair Foundation has met the highest national standards delivering the best quality services to the community we serve.

"Great group of people to work with! I love being a Bair family. I wouldn't have my daughters if it weren't for Bair." - Debbie Howard, Adoptive Parent
"I wanted to take this opportunity to compliment your foster parents. They helped the children feel safe, loved, and the stability that their home provided absolutely helped their behaviors stabilize. I am thankful to have been able to work with this wonderful family and thankful that the children were placed in THIS home." - Ella Deave, Social Worker
"I struggled throughout my life with suicidal thoughts from roots of rejection. Praise God I was placed in a loving Bair foster home where I was made to feel like I mattered." - Nicole, former foster youth.
"Treatment foster care has affected me in so many different ways and given me opportunity to grow as a person. I didn't have a family before foster care. Now I have people in my life who care about me. Most of my life I bounced around and was never given the opportunity to develop a relationship. Even though I am no longer in care of The Bair Foundation, I am still in contact with my former foster parents, Bill & Maria, whom I joined for the holidays. I am so very grateful for them. They have shown and taught me so many different things in life. One thing that they helped me with is finding what was important to me, education, life skills, support, and what it means to be a part of a family. I once thought that I was never going to have the opportunity to experience what a family felt like. I am currently enrolled in College and majoring in Psychology. I have been attending for three semesters and I hope to graduate in May with my Associates Degree. I finished my first year with a 3.9 GPA, an accomplishment I'm proud I achieved." - J...
