For over six decades, Bakersfield Senior Center has stood as a place of warmth, dignity, and belonging for our city's older adults. Every day, we serve hot, nutritious meals to seniors—many of whom live on fixed incomes, face mobility challenges, or are isolated from family.

Our meal program is more than just food. It’s a daily check-in, a smile, and sometimes the only social interaction someone gets. For many, it’s the only meal they’ll eat that day.

But recently, sweeping changes at the federal level have impacted funding streams we’ve relied on for years. Executive orders and shifts in policy have left our kitchen quieter, our pantry shelves thinner, and our seniors asking if we’ll still be here tomorrow.
