Serving Morongo Basin Communities to Improve Quality of Life 

Our mission is to enhance life and economic vitality in the Morongo Basin through partnerships with individuals, non-profits, and government.

Basin Wide Foundation provides non-profit capacity building through educational seminars, workshops, training, resources and networking opportunities.

The Basin Wide Foundation incubates community minded groups through the Affiliate Sponsor program by serving as the fiscal agent while they build their programs and fulfill their mission.  Without our many nonprofits, the services and the needs of this community would certainly go unmet.  The Basin Wide Foundation and our sponsor affiliate are driven to improve the quality of life here in the Morongo Basin  communities.

Affiliate Programs

Dreams for Kids 

• Basin Wide Foundation working in conjunction with Child Family Services (CFS) to provide social and cultural outlet opportunities.
• Providing music, dance, and sports lessons; kids' club memberships; trips to science camp and more.  
• At Christmas, The "Adopt a Child" Program provides hundreds of gifts and toys to the children in the CFS foster & protective care system.  Last year we had over 400 children. 

Morongo Basin Haven

• Collaborates with multiple agencies to enhance homelessness services in the Morongo Basin.  Provides resources to prevent homelessness.

Miracle League of the Desert

• Baseball League for children and adults with disabilities.  Provides an inclusive, fun and safe environment to play an all-american game.    

Waste Not Morongo Basin 

• A relatively new program to reduce food insecurity by establishing a local food bank to support the many local food pantries.  

Friends of the Combat Center

• A group of community leaders coming together to improve connectivity between the Marine Basin and the Morongo Basin communities through volunteer opportunities, community events and much more.  

Grubstake Days Carnival

• This program started as Bring Back Grubstake Days in 2016 to bring back the historic carnival and Kids' Day in Yucca Valley to increase community pride and preserve the history of the community.  Today it continues to organize the annual Carnival, Tug of War, Horse Shoes, Beard Contest and Commemorative Buttons.  

History

For more than 20 years the Foundation has united organizations and individuals to grow our economy and strengthen social networks. Our accomplishments include:

• Sky's the Limit - Financially backing and fostering community collaboration to launch this world class observatory.
• Dreams for Kids - Delivering social and cultural activities that enhance the lives of children in Child Protective Services.
• Brehm Youth Sports Parks - Building this 12-acre sports complex where kids of all ages and abilities can play.
• Salute to Those who Serve - Providing resources to this event that honors those who serve their country.
• California Welcome Center - Obtaining the State designation for this Center promoting tourism in the Basin.
• Desert Women Charities - Helping to develop this program, providing help for special needs children with diabetes.

While no one organization or person can do it all, when we unite around key projects and goals we can do it together. The Basin Wide Foundation believes that together we can:

• Leverage our knowledge, expertise, and resources to improve the collective health, economy, environment, and culture of the Basin.
• Strengthen the ability of the nonprofit community to do good works by providing opportunities for networking, training, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to the Basin’s multicultural vibrancy through sponsorship of cultural programs and issue-based public forums.
• Support each other through fundraisers.
