BABEC was incorporated in 1996 to more fully address the need for biotechnology resources in local schools.

BABEC provides:

As a leader in innovative science education, BABEC has fostered an unparalleled biotechnology education support system for Bay Area students and teachers.

BABEC worked through regional providers in 6 counties across the Bay Area to provide hands-on experiences for over 16,000 students this year:
