The Bea & the Bug

Yes! This show makes American history irresistible and inspires kids to learn! The Bea & the Bug is upbeat and tons of fun, with music, multimedia and interaction -- a true extravaganza about American history and kids love every show! www.TheBeaAndTheBug.org

Each time-travelling show introduces its audience to people who followed a goal or used a skill to help to make America great.

For example, Thomas Jefferson was a writer – and wrote the Declaration of Independence! Duke Ellington loved music! Nellie Bly loved to write! Benjamin Banneker was a Scientist!

The show is filled with archival footage, etchings, and lyrics. Each child (and adult) strengthens their knowledge, and reading skills as they sing original songs with the cast and see images of persons highlighted in the show.

Our most recent show was on Alexandria's First Night at the Downtown Baptist Church. It was a smashing success with everyone singing, interacting and learning. In addition to our enthusiastic audience tickets were purchased for those at the Carpenters Shelter and New Hope Housing. And! Audience members gave us high praise!
