The BVCHD Foundation’s Mom and Dad Projects mission is that families in Big Bear will be safe, healthy and thriving members of our community.  Our vision can only be achieved through successfully coordinating and partnering with community members, the business community, and public and private organizations and agencies.

The Mom and Dad Project is results oriented. This means that we focus on those actions and strategies  that will lead to specific beneficial changes for the well-being of children, families and the community as a whole.

The BVCHD Foundation's Mom and Dad Project is Big Bear's ONLY Parent Education and Resource Center. We are currently housed in The Brenda Boss Family Resource Center. We share our building with Big Bear’s ONLY Rural Health Clinic.

The Mom and Dad Project is a program run under the Bear Valley Community Healthcare District, and we are currently the only program of its kind in the Big Bear Valley.

The Mom and Dad Project was established in 2001 to meet an unmet need for Parenting Educational Classes and Parenting Resources in the Big Bear Area. Big Bear is a small isolated community located in the San Bernardino Mountains, elevation approximately 7000 feet, with a population of approximately 20,000 full time residents. Prior to the inception of the Mom and Dad Project, clients would have to travel 52 mountainous miles, often in inclement weather to obtain services the Mom and Dad Project offers.
