Bedford Christian Ministries Association

Bedford Christian Ministries was founded by several downtown Bedford churches and the Society of St. Andrew in 1984 to provide a centralized outreach ministry for those churches.  Today, BCM is supported by 26 Bedford County churches and provides services to all residents of the County.  Primary services offered are food assistance, electric and water bill assistance, past due and first-month rent assistance, heating oil and propane assistance, and vision assistance.  BCM has always been operated by an all-volunteer staff.  During the pandemic, we distributed over $93K in CARES Act assistance and teamed with the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and Bedford Ride to deliver food to seniors and homebound individuals throughout the County.  In 2024, 10% of our financial assistance and 13.5% of our food assistance has been provided to residents of Moneta, Hardy, Goodview, Huddleston and Lynch Station.
