Belmont Shore Rugby (includes 400 youth players)

Belmont Shore Rugby, established in 1974, includes 400 youth players, and is an excellent means to teach strong leadership, teamwork, and life skills. We are a blend of backgrounds and cultures, with a high percentage of youth players from economically challenged circumstances. 

We make a difference in kids' lives. Our youth program is the largest and most successful program in the US. It provides an environment of fun, comradery, and development.

We support our youth long term. We support them whether its graduating high school,  pursuing a trade, 2 or 4 year college, or job opportunities. Also, for a handful, its college scholarships, national championships,  national team / Olympic appearances ( 3 players on Paris 2024 men's rugby team), or professional men's or women's rugby. 

We give back. To our youth, our alumni network is actively involved providing mentorship, career guidance, and local jobs. Operations wise, we give back to Long Beach using facilities, fields, concessions, services, hotels, vendors, et al.  

Our model is 100 % volunteerism. Dues are low. Everyone plays, regardless of ability to pay. We find sponsors for those in need of financial support.

We keep score "on and off" the field. "Off" field and in our communities, we're proud of our players, volunteers, coaches, parents,  high school graduates and their career choices and futures ahead !!! "On" field, we've won nearly 20 National Championships, including 2 by our Under 18 Girls team in 2024.
