Red Rock State Park is a 286 acre nature preserve, located about 5 miles S.W. of City of Sedona, through which Oak Creek and its fragile riparian area meander for 1 1/2 miles.  The Park's mission is to provide preservation of the riparian habitat, envirnmental education and low-impact recreation.

The Benefactors raise funds to support many of the Park's educational programs, including the School Connection program, visiting lectures ,training of a large group of Park Volunteers.  They have contributed funds for development of special facilities, such as a handicapped accessible nature trail and  multi-media audio-visual equipment.  During the State's budget crisis of past 3 years the Benefacotrs raised more than $140,000 to help fund general park operations and prevent closure of the Park.  The State has now resumed funding of daily operations, but this falls way short of funding educational programs and critical backlog of maintanence and repair of infrastructure.
