The UU Urban Ministry provides programming focused on education and enrichment, shelter and housing, and community development:
• Roxbury Youth Programs provides education and enrichment for teens during the school year and in the summer.
• Explorers Club and Summer Campership Program offer exploration and learning opportunities for elementary-school-age children.
• Renewal House provides shelter and services for domestic violence survivors.
• Believe in Success, to be launched in mid-2017, is a new program that will provide job- and education-readiness programming for low-income women/LGBTQ persons who have experienced domestic violence and other trauma.
• Jericho Road Roxbury is a service grant program that matches the needs of Roxbury-serving nonprofits with the skills of volunteer professionals.
• Community Engagement activities seek to bring people together across the divides of race, class and faith for conversations, community-building, arts and cultural events, and justice work.
