Bethany House Services empowers homeless and at-risk families with the solutions to achieve housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency.

Our vision is to live in a community where all families have a place to call home, and no one spends a night without shelter. Bethany House strives to meet not only the immediate needs of every family member while in shelter but also to provide the entire family with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to establish a stable home. Our wraparound services and comprehensive programs are innovative and data-driven approaches that provide direct assistance to families in need. These initiatives directly help children stay in school, parents be able to continue to work and families to stay housed- actively preventing opportunities for trauma to reappear. Approximately one in five local families seeking emergency shelter and services currently receive them due to extremely high need. 

It’s easy to overlook families experiencing homelessness who are not as visible as homeless adults living on city streets. Homeless families have no other place to go and struggle to create a sense of safety and stability for their children while facing significant challenges. While family homelessness continues to grow, our facilities are holding us back. Families are now scattered among five shelters in South Fairmount, Westwood, College Hill and Bond Hill, three of which are apartment buildings. Families and staff must travel among the buildings for services; this is costly and time-consuming, and the scattered sites mean unequal access to programs for families.

To address this need, Bethany House has announced the launch of our largest-ever public campaign to raise funds for a new consolidated family homeless shelter and comprehensive services center! Consolidating seven buildings into one new facility, we can provide the best quality shelter accommodations and improve access to a full range of support services for every family served.
