United Nations Association-Boulder County

Since 1964 the United Nations Association of Boulder County (UNA-BC), has strived to make the world a better place for all - to secure international peace, protect human rights, deliver humanitarian aid, promote sustainable development, and uphold international law.  Committed to action, UNA-BC engages in humanitarian projects that promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of No Poverty, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequality, and Partnerships for the Goals.

1. To help achieve these goals, we raised more than $100,000 for primary education in in Afghanistan and over $160,000 through the Adopt a Minefield Colorado Initiative for clearing land mines in Mozambique.

2. Through the Adopt a Future Initiative, a partnership with UN High Commission on Refugees and the Boulder Valley Rotary Club, UNA-BC raised $30,000 for the Bidii Primary School in the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya in 2017-2021. 

3. In collaboration with the Kellerman Foundation, we are fundraising for a Community Rural Health project in Uganda. Please see our Campaign on this ColoradoGives site.

4. We advocate for the work of the UN, meeting regularly with local, state, and national elected representatives.

5. We educate by sponsoring public discussions, film programs, and lectures including our annual UN Day, dinner programs, and a monthly discussion series.

6. UNA-BC recognizes Boulder County citizens who do significant work in support of human rights through our International Human Rights Award, presented in December in celebration of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. 

Your donation will support our ongoing commitment to advance the SDGs of the United Nations through these initiatives. We are fully staffed through volunteers so that 100% of your donation goes towards our projects and activities.
