Beverly M Burton Scholarship Fund

This Trust was founded by the Burton family in memory of Beverly Burton who volunteered with the Boys & Girls Clubs for 25 years.  Beverly was killed in a private plane crash in 2006 when she was returning from a speaking engagement on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs in Natchez, MS.  She died while in service to the group of children that she loved so much.  This is the family's way of honoring her by helping children who excel in leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to their club, their family, their church, and their community through providing scholarships to help them continue their education and thus have a better life.

Since the Alabama Youth of the Year can be selected from any Boys & Girls Club in any city in Alabama, this scholarship can benefit children from not only Mobile, but from Fairhope, Birmingham,  Montgomery, Huntsville, Dothan, Tuscaloosa, and so on.
