The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia (BGCSWVA) stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity in the community, offering a nurturing environment where young people can flourish. For over a quarter of a century, we have been a cornerstone for youth development, touching the lives of 20,000 individuals and counting.  This remarkable organization is part of the larger Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) network, dedicated to fostering academic success, instilling good character and citizenship, and promoting healthy lifestyles among the youth.

BGCSWVA depends on local support to stay open and available to our families and currently operates ten Club sites including FOUR Clubs in Montgomery County! Our Eastern Montgomery Elementary, Christiansburg Middle, Shawsville Middle, and Eastern Montgomery High School Clubs serve youth after school during the school year and in a full-day capacity during the summer months.  In the summer, we provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

In 2023, we served approximately 1,313 youth, many from low-income and single-parent households. Any child between the ages of 6 and 18 is eligible for membership in our organization. Club members in Montgomery County do not pay a fee to attend.

The most a family pays for membership across our organization is $15 per week and no child is turned away for inability to pay. All BGCSWVA programs build self-confidence and self-esteem to foster a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, and influence.
