Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Shoals Inc

I got involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters when I was hired as the agency CEO.  Within the first six months on the job, I knew that I wanted to be a Big Sister.  Now, eleven years later, I am matched with my third little sister in the program (the other two are fully grown, married with children).  Kaytlin, Amanda & Jessica have all brought such joy to my life.  I have loved them each unconditionally as they have me, and we have spent countless hours laughing...and crying, talking about the joys in life and the tough stuff.  I can honestly say my life is better for having been a part of their lives.  I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be there for them in good times & bad (and believe me we've had our share of both).

When you volunteer, you go into it thinking you are really going to impact another person's life, but what happens is they change yours just as much!  I wouldn't trade anything for my three little sisters and what they mean to me.
