Big Hearts for Little Hearts Desert Guild in Support of Loma Linda University Children's Health

The purpose of the Guild is to foster interest in the community in the work of the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital and to support its mission to improve the life of its patients through contributions of service and funds.

Through the past twenty-one years The Big Hearts for Little Hearts Desert Guild has provided hope for so many children right here in the Coachella Valley. Some of our accomplishments include:

• Raising awareness and funds to establish a much-needed Children's Clinic in the Coachella Valley: Loma Linda University Children's Health Indio - Jill and Barry Golden Pavilion. Opened in 2017, the Clinic now serves over 13,000 young patients and their families.

• Raising funds and pledges needed to establish the $1.5 Million Woolley-Pettis Pediatric Chair at Loma Linda University School of Pediatric Medicine. This chair will help assure the education of the bright young doctors who will care for our children in the future.

• Funding the Ken and Kathleen Venturi Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Pharmacy at the Children's Hospital.

• Funding Loma Linda's Flight for Life and Pediatric Care Transport Team so Coachella Valley children can be treated by the incredible doctors at Southern California's Number One Pediatric Trauma Center at Loma Linda.

• Funding numerous pieces of life-saving equipment at the Hospital and the Indio Clinic, raising $70,000 for a CATSmart, the Continuous Autotransfusion System, used to cleans a young patient's blood in the operating room, at the Guild's second Fund-A-Vision this past year.

• Funding the purchase of thousands of Teddy Bears, Blankets, Warm Socks and other comforting gifts distributed to patients and parents through the Desert Guild's Build-A-Bear Program, the Santa Stroll and the Bunny Hop at the Children's Hospital.
