Billion Strong is a global disability identity, belonging, and empowerment movement designed to bring together the more than 1.3 billion people with disabilities around the world.

Founded by people with lived experiences of disability, Billion Strong is building a global community where every voice matters, every story matters, every region matters, and everyone belongs.

Today, Billion Strong includes advisors, leaders, volunteers, and supporters spanning 127 countries. We bring together persons with disabilities, allies, family members, employers, entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs), and other stakeholders who are committed to creating a more accessible, inclusive, and equitable world.

Finding the Voice of the Global Disability Community

For too long, many disability conversations, leadership opportunities, conferences, funding decisions, and research efforts have been concentrated in a handful of countries and organizations.

Billion Strong is helping change that.

We are creating opportunities for people with disabilities from every region of the world to connect, collaborate, learn, lead, and share their experiences. We celebrate the rich diversity and intersectionality of the disability community and recognize that disability crosses every race, gender, age, culture, religion, language, and socioeconomic background.

Billion Strong supports disability leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, employment, accessibility, and community-building.

Through events, publications, storytelling, partnerships, training, research, advocacy, and global collaboration, we help connect people with disabilities to opportunities, resources, and one another.

We believe that people with disabilities should not only have a seat at the table—they should help design the table.

Disability is one of the largest and most diverse communities in the world.

Yet many people with disabilities still feel isolated, invisible, or disconnected from the broader disability community.

Billion Strong works alongside Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs), disability networks, advocates, researchers, businesses, governments, and community leaders around the world.

We do not seek to replace existing organizations. Instead, we seek to amplify their work, create opportunities for collaboration, and help connect disability communities across borders.

By working together, we can increase visibility, share solutions, strengthen disability leadership, and improve outcomes for people with disabilities everywhere.

Advancing Accountability and Inclusion

Billion Strong believes that inclusion begins with us.

Through initiatives such as Disability Mirror™, we are encouraging the disability community to examine how accessible, inclusive, transparent, innovative, and collaborative our own organizations are.

If we expect governments, corporations, universities, and communities to include us, we must also commit to including one another.
