Historical Achievements of BiNet USA

2018: BiNet USA board member Eliot Sutler co-chairs Creating Change, the first time a bisexual organizer has been named to help host the National LGBTQ Task Force's annual conference.

2017: BiNet USA President Lynnette McFadzen is named co-chair of Equality March, the first time a leader in bisexual organizing was appointed a co-organizer of a March on Washington for LGBTQIA rights.

2016: BiNet USA organizes first live streamed White House Bisexual Briefing at the White House on YouTube.

2015: BiNet USA, The Bisexual Resource Center and Bisexual Organizing Project co-organize the 2015 Bisexual Briefing at the White House with the Obama administration. The meeting provided solutions to pressing bisexual policy concerns by engaging federal and administration officials via the development of a set of Bisexual Policy Recommendation documents for the briefing.

2014: BiNet USA President Faith Cheltenham, is the first president of a bisexual non-profit to meet privately with President Obama alongside other national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) leaders and witness an Executive Order signing

2013: The Bisexual Resource Center and BiNet USA co-organized the 1st Bisexual Community Issues Roundtable at the White House in Sept 2013.

2010: Partnered with the U.S. Census to do bisexual specific outreach, because our families count too!

2008: Partnered with Rock the Vote to encourage participation in the American electoral process.

2007: Participated in the development of the report Bisexual health: An introduction and model practices for HIV/STI prevention programming with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and Fenway Health.

2006: Created initiative to reach out and determine specific needs of bisexuals in rural areas.

1998: Hosted the First National Institute on Bisexuality and HIV/AIDS (1998).

1998: Organized an Ally Campaign, educating and holding ally organizations accountable for their actions.

1995: Developed and sent out survey to organizations nationwide serving GLBTQ youth. The survey report was published and sent to agencies, offering assistance in improving services.

1993: Played a key role in the successful national campaign to include “Bi” in the March on Washington for Gay, Lesbian and Bi Equal Rights and Liberation.

1993: With the Bisexual Resource Center and the Washington, DC-based Alliance of Multicultural Bisexuals, we co-sponsored the largest US bisexual conference to date with over 600 people in attendance.
