Birmingham Jewish Federation

The Birmingham Jewish Federation is our Jewish Community's central fundraising, community relations and community development agency. We are dedicated to enriching Jewish life, supporting Israel, helping all people in need, and building a better Birmingham.

We accomplish our goals through fundraising, programming and activities. Funds raised by the BJF help support 32 agencies, locally, in Israel and throught the world. Some of our local agencies include the Levite Jewish Community Center, which is open to all Birmingham citizens; Collat Jewish Family Services, which provides social services to all people in need; and our Jewish Community Relations Coalition, which brings people together from throughout the Birmingham community for coalition-building and learning exchanges.

Through Operation Grassroots, we truly have an opportunity to make history and you have a chance to be part of it. For our small Jewish community of just about 1500 families, along with help from our friends, to raise 1000 new gifts or increases of at least $100, will be an achievement that will lift our organization for years to come.

LIFT is the key word these days at The BJF -- it stands for Leadership Initiatives For Tomorrow -- and Operation Grassroots has the potential to lift our campaign to an entirely new level and broaden our donor base dramatically.
