Birmingham Mentoring Assistance Network Inc

We believe all of our young men are in pursuit of something.  The question is, what is it?  It is our desire to help our young men develop goals and a plan to achieve them. 

We believe that men should present the positive image of a well-groomed, well-dressed professional to our younger men.  We understand that our outward attire is an expression of our inner man.  It's been said, you look good and you feel good. 

Alfred A. Edmond Jr. states in the book "Restoring The Male Image" by Alex O. Ellis, " ...that personal presentation is.......not just clothing the flesh, but adorning the spirit."

Our mission is to actively participate in the preparation of our sons’ promotion from a boy to a Man.

Organization

The Birmingham Mentoring Assistance Network, Inc is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that operates a mentoring program in the City of Birmingham.  The organization consists of volunteers, mentors, and staff headquartered in the Birmingham-Northeast area.

History

In 2009, a group of Birmingham education and business professionals founded the Birmingham Mentoring Assistance Network, Inc.  The Birmingham Man was organized to help improve the quality of life for males age 7-21 in the communities of metro Birmingham, Alabama.  According to Psalms 127:3-5, we believe that every child is like an arrow that has to be targeted for achievement.  Like Archers, our program is designed to help our youth hit their targets and deter them from crime and academic failure.

Vision

We are working to seize what we see.  We see our young men developing into productive leaders in their communities.  We see a great need in our city for more doctors, lawyers, accountants, contractors, other type of professionals who will win in business.  These young men will ultimately become employers offering citizens new employment opportunities and have a positive impact on the future of our region.  We see young men loving their families and encouraging other young men to pursue excellence in the classroom, on the job, at home, and in every aspect of their lives.  This is our vision.
