Amina, a bright-eyed, curious girl growing up in the inner city, was drawn, from a young age, to the world of technology, spending countless hours tinkering with her electronic toys and other gadgets. Yet, despite her passion, Amina faced numerous challenges. Her neighborhood lacked access to quality STEM education, and the digital divide created a barrier to her aspirations.  

Amina's dreams of becoming a software engineer seemed distant, like a star out of reach. She watched as her male peers had opportunities to explore technology, while female focused STEM initiatives are dissolving due to lack of funding. 

But Amina refused to be defined by her circumstances. With unwavering determination, she sought out knowledge, teaching herself basic coding through online tutorials. Yet, without proper guidance or a supportive community, her progress was slow and frustrating.

BWinB's Women's Digital Innovation Lab

This is where the Women's Digital Innovation Lab becomes a beacon of hope. It is an oasis in the digital desert, offering Amina and women like her the resources, mentorship, and collaborative environment they need to thrive. By providing access to state-of-the-art equipment, expert workshops, and a supportive community, the Lab empowers women to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

Amina's story is not unique. It is a reflection of the challenges faced by countless African American women in the United States. By investing in the Women's Digital Innovation Lab, we are investing in the dreams and aspirations of these women, helping them to become leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

About Us

Black Women In Blockchain is dedicated to fostering inclusion and representation in the blockchain industry. We are committed to empowering Black women through comprehensive training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and visibility programs. Our goal is to provide access to capital and resources, nurturing an environment where Black women can thrive, innovate, and lead in the blockchain sphere. We align our initiatives with five of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals - gender equality, education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and social inclusion. 

Our mission is to transform the blockchain industry, making it a diverse, equitable, and inclusive space where Black women can make a significant impact. Since our beginning in 2021, it's been our privilege to champion the involvement of women in tech, by educating, forging relationships and improving lives. Our efforts create ripples of positive change within the diaspora, as the women we support go on to give back to the people around them.
