Blind Sports Organization

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission:

The Blind Sports Organization recognizes the positive impact organized sports have on the development of youth and the continued health and well-being of adults. Sports build confidence, improve physical and mental health, and increase a sense of community. Unfortunately, individuals who are blind or visually impaired aren't typically able to participate in local sports programs. The mission of BSO is to ensure the blind and visually impaired community has access to quality adapted sports programs. We also promote adapted sports through community engagement, school presentations, and collaborations with local parks and recreation departments.

Our Programs:

Our programs include Beep Baseball and Blind Tennis, adapted versions of Baseball and Tennis. As well as Goalball, a unique sport designed specifically for athletes who are blind or visually impaired. We also provide rotating youth activities such as rock climbing and bowling. Each fall we partner with Upper Gwynedd Township Parks and Rec to host a Blind Sports Day to showcase all of our activities.
