VisAbility, formerly Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, provides innovative training and tools for people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve their goals and dreams. We envision an inclusive society where everyone who is blind or visually impaired has equal opportunity to pursue their passions and achieve their purpose.

VisAbility is the principal nonprofit agency in southwestern Pennsylvania for people who are blind or vision-impaired. We provide a complete, holistic care approach in rehabilitation, vocational, and community support with programs and services for people of all ages and incomes so that individuals with vision loss can live safe and independent lives. VisAbility serves more than 1,500 adults and teenagers in rehabilitation, vocational, and support programs annually, and an additional 14,000 children through our free vision screening program.

Our programs include:

New Beginnings is an intensive, full-immersion, residential program offering individualized instruction in daily living skills, activities, orientation, and mobility.

Low-Vision Rehabilitation Services include exams and prescribed aids

Assistive Technology Training in the latest adaptive and computer equipment

Children's Vision Screening for children 12 months to 6 years

Industries, our manufacturing division, where more than 75 percent of our employees are blind or vision-impaired
