Bloom Parks and Projects (BPP)

Mission Statement:

To nurture the future, so every bud and every child can blossom.

Vision and Plan

•We have created a supportive group of about 250 individuals in RGV, TX, who wish to contribute their time and love towards nurturing all children in the community but with special focus on those who are underprivileged and with special needs, by providing mentorship, teaching good values and organizing joyful and educational events regularly and during holidays.

•We have created a place of fun and joy, Bloom Park, a 10 acre piece of property in Edinburg, Texas, as an event center for safe and fun community activities with a petting zoo, horseback riding, pond for fishing & kayaking, cycling/walking track, chicken coop & community vegetable garden. We need support for our Christmas event on Saturday December 9, 2023 for food & gifts and build our Janani Art Center, Bloom café and kitchen, prayer room, outdoor sports center.

Timeline of Progress.

1.Idea for Creation of Bloom Parks/Projects 01/01/21

2.Formal Creation of Non-profit via certificate of formation in State of TX  on 11/04/2021

3.Certified as a 501C-3 tax exempt nonprofit corporation by IRS on 11/9/2021 

4.Obtaining certifications of solicitation from potential donor states. So far states of CT, IL, NJ, AZ and TX have provided these certificates. Working on CA certification - Ongoing

5.Phase 2 plans produced and priorities established. 2/1/2022

Immediate plans that require funding from donors

•Build a Children's Art Center where they can learn to draw, paint and do pottery

•Install irrigation system to water existing and future trees, plants. Provide water to animals (water tank and basic components are already purchased). Build vegetable gardens and teach children to grow healthy vegetables that they can harvest and use in their homes

•Harden the small animal cages used for rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, birds etc. which will be part of the petting zoo

Current state of the park is mostly based on substantial financial support provided by Dr. Taggarse. Future progress will depend on voluntary donations from like minded and champions for bettering the lives of underprivileged and disadvantaged children from surrounding towns. Provide them basic knowledge to develop self confidence, interpersonal skills, comradery, taking care of animals, growing vegetables, fishing, and above all enjoy the fresh air, environment and have a good time at the park.

Current Board of Directors:

1. Dr. Amit Taggarse, Founder & Director ( official )

Background - Heart Surgeon at DHR Hospital, McAllen, TX. Philanthropist, champion for improving lives of underprivileged children, giving them solid foundation for leading a successful and productive life, Originator of similar concept in his home country India. Will lead donation campaigns.

2. Mr. Ajit Hemmady, Advisor & Mentor ( non- official )

Background: Retired management and product development executive from GTE Communications Systems, executive management at ITT Communications Systems, executive management at NEC Telecommunications, senior executive management at Samsung Telecommunications. Highly interested in fishing and instructor to teach  children about fishing basics. Will provide support for planning, forecasting, scheduling, execution of plans, keepng track of donations and expenditures.

3. Mrs. Rati Tripathi, Financial Advisor & Director. (Official). Will provide advice and direction on financial issues.

4. Mr. Arnoldo Solis Sr., Construction Manager (non-official)

Background: Experience in oil industry, currently owning a ranch adjoining to Bloom Parks and Projects, very handy in operating machinery, contacts with local vendors who will do most of the work in developing the park, office building, playground. petting zoo etc. Will supervise construction activities, grounds keeping. Was instrumental in creating a beautiful fishing pond and constrcting fences around pond, petting zoo and vegetable garden

5. Mr. Brad Shropshire : Park Ranger & Treasurer ( non-official

7. Mrs. Amrutha : memberships
