About Blossburg Memorial Library

We are a small, rural public library in Blossburg, Tioga County. Blossburg's motto is, "Small Town. Big heart," and our library is a perfect example of this! We are a wonderful place to spend time reading, learning, sharing, growing and playing. We feature a wide variety of free programs, activities and events for people of all ages, year-round, as well as books, periodicals, DVDs, audiobooks, public computers, a variety of e-resources, and many other materials. Our welcoming children's area encourages active play, without the expectation of being quiet. We are a safe and fun place to spend time with new friends, old friends, family, and our friendly staff and volunteers. Library cards are free! Come visit to say hi and see what we have to offer. We'll even remember your name and enjoy getting to know you!'

Anybody who has visited the Blossburg Memorial Library knows that we are indeed such a place - we strive to make everybody feel special and welcome. Friendships and connections begin here; we build community. We encourage a love of reading and learning, providing access to technology and opportunities for STEM learning, creativity, music, family time, healthy living, and more!

Our Mission

At the Blossburg Memorial Library, our mission is to provide free library services & programs, providing a safe & fun space where people of all ages can come together to learn, grow & thrive.

While we primarily serve residents of Tioga County, anybody who walks through our doors can receive free library services!

What does our mission mean?

It means that we're more than books; we're a place where YOU belong! EVERYONE is welcome at our library; there's something for everybody at the Blossburg Memorial Library! Our library is about people - about belonging - about connections - about welcoming everybody. We're about YOU!

We're yoga, mahjong, crafts, music, art, games, STEM learning, American Sign Language, Adventure Club, book clubs, themed-teen camps, story time, community & family nights. Every year we add new programs! We also have magazines, the local newspaper, e-resources, audiobooks, DVDs, games, STEM supplies, patron computers, open Wi-Fi & friendly staff (and books). Libraries have become more and more like community centers - we're certainly central to our community!

Raise the Region donations in action

Donations in 2025 helped us to have an amazing year of growth at our library; we added more hours, staffing, materials & programs! We also purchased a new furnace, and new patron computers.

We went FINE FREE! That's right - no more late fines! We have eliminated the final barrier of library use because nobody should be afraid to come back to the library after owing a late fine! 

Program attendance increased by 56% from 2024 to 2025. 16,208 people visited us in 2025 - that's an increase of 11% over visits in 2024. Incredibly, we hosted 218 sessions of programs in 2025!

How can we do so much? Thanks to YOU! Funds raised in 2026 will be used to provide free programs, activities and materials for the public. They will help us to continue to grow and do even more for our patrons & communities.
