Blue Ridge Green Burial

The vision of Blue Ridge Green Burial is to become a model for sustainable land conservation, build community, and offer family-led green burial in southwest Virginia. Green burial is a natural and life-giving burial process that does not involve embalming or vaults. Its purpose is:

1. to provide natural decomposition  
2. offer the nutrients back into a healthy ecosystem
3. open the door for families to be intimately involved with the care of their loved ones in death.

We are currently seeking land to conserve, preserve, and regenerate while enlivening our community and our relationship with the natural cycles of life. Whether this land is donated or purchased, we will have ongoing costs associated with the management of the land and  conservation and burial activities.
