Blue Ridge Legal Services, Inc. (BRLS) is a nonprofit charitable legal aid program providing free legal assistance in civil matters of critical importance to the low-income residents of the Shenandoah and Roanoke Valleys. BRLS is committed to eliminating poverty-based inequities in the civil justice system by providing high-quality advice and representation to low-income residents in our service area, folks who would otherwise be unable to obtain legal help due to their poverty.

Our service area stretches from Frederick County to Franklin County, serving 26 localities along the Blue Ridge Mountains. We operate four full-time offices in Winchester, Harrisonburg, Lexington, and Roanoke, ensuring that low-income people with a civil legal issue have meaningful access to justice. Support from the community is immensely important in helping us provide low-income people with high-quality legal services in matters that could otherwise turn their lives upside down.
