Bomani Strength

Vision:
For inner-city youth with similar socio-economic backgrounds to work together in unity, not against one another. 
Mission:  For inner-city youth to come together in
unity as a means of preventing negative behavior such as gang violence. Students will gain personal growth and healthier lifestyles through high-intensity core strength and conditioning programs, nutrition seminars, and
community service.

Meaning:
Bomani means Warrior in African culture. Bomani Strength began working with athletes from the inner city, who are predominantly African American.  Inspired by the athletic talent, dedication, and culture, I (as founder) felt is a great honor to incorporate the African heritage into the name of my program. 

I,Amanda Stanoszek, founded Bomani Strength in the spring of 2011 while working with the Shaw High School (East Cleveland, OH) Football Team during preseason strength and conditioning workouts. Since then, I have volunteered my time to train the Shaw Cardinal athletes during their sports’ off season to build speed, agility, and strength before the regular season.  The athletes learned about how they can use their own bodyweight to aide them in strength building, how to work as a team, and how to build camaraderie, a natural
presence at Crossfit workouts.  

Bomani Strength offers strength and conditioning programs to young men and women living in the inner city that wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to train outside of their school-sponsored sports program.  Bomani Strength  Through the Crossfit training program, which promotes teamwork and community, young men and women will have service opportunities such as assisting in the gym as junior coaches. Furthermore, they will be exposed to positive messages given throughout each class session.  This will build strong character traits and enable youth to work towards new personal goals, achievements, and strive for
something better than their current situation.
