Boxer Lovers Rescue

Founded in late 2014, Boxer Rescue of Idaho (also known as Boxer-Rescue) is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted boxers throughout Idaho and surrounding states. 

While the boxer is listed in the top ten of favorite breeds, they are also ranked #4 of purebred dogs found in shelters.  Boxer-Rescue works closely with many shelters, as well we work with individuals no longer able to care for their boxer.  In addition to helping the boxers, we strive to educate others about the breed and responsible pet guardianship.  We promote spay/neuter of all household companions.

We are a foster based rescue, meaning our boxers are placed in approved foster homes.  This allows us to learn about the boxer's tempament & behavior in a home setting.  While in foster care the boxer will recieve any medical care and/or behavioral training needed.

Every boxer coming to us has their own story to tell - some have been cared for but may be losing their home due to death, job loss, etc...  Others have lived a very hard life, coming to us starved, neglected, abandoned, injured or abused.

Almost every boxer coming to us requires some type medical care whether it be vaccinations or spay/neuter; to treating ear infections, yeast infections; severe allergies; to needing dental work or surgeries to remove tumors or limb amputations. Sadly many have suffered from these unmet medical needs for some time.

Boxer-Rescue also provides hospice care for those boxers not adopted due to medical conditions.  Hospice care is provided by a special group of foster volunteers that will give the boxer the love and care needed to live out their remaining days and when needed will hold the boxer as they are helped across the rainbow bridge.

Providing medical care for the boxers is our biggest expense.  Boxer-Rescue operates solely on adoption fees, private donations, and grants from different organizations when available.  With your help we can make a difference!
