Make a Difference This Giving Tuesday—Support GREAT FUTURES Today!

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta is more than just an after school program. We are a lifeline for hundreds of families across Siskiyou County, providing critical childcare and transformative youth development programs.

With almost 300 members served this year alone and our highest daily attendance of 136 members in September 2024, your tax deductible donation this Giving Tuesday will have a direct and lasting impact on the youth and families who rely on us. We cannot continue this vital work without your help.

Who We Serve

We offer TK-8th grade afterschool and summer programming at some of the most affordable rates in the area, and many working parents depend on us for childcare. Our club operates out of MSUSD sites but serves members from across Siskiyou County, including Butteville, Dunsmuir, Golden Eagle, and Weed. No family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay because every child deserves access to opportunities that can change their lives.

Our diverse programs include:

  • S.T.E.M. education, sports & fitness
  • The arts, character, and leadership development
  • Educational enhancement activities, homework help and outdoor adventures
  • Meals & snacks

Our mission is to help youth reach their full potential as caring, responsible, and productive citizens. Everything we do focuses on building social-emotional skills that help young people succeed in school, work, and life.

We Do Not Receive Funding from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA)

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, BGCGS operates independently and does not receive funding from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Instead, we rely entirely on donations from individuals, businesses, and grants to keep our doors open. Community support is critical to ensuring our programs continue to serve local youth.

Why Support Us?

After-school programs like ours are essential in shaping the futures of children, especially in Siskiyou County, where access to youth development resources is limited. We are much more than just a place for kids to go after school. We are a community where young people can build relationships, gain life skills, and explore new opportunities in a safe, supportive environment.

One of our parents said it best:

"Club is so important to this community and parents who work full time or who don’t have that extra help at home. I applaud the Boys & Girls Club and I’m excited for the future." – Gabbi Aston, Parent

Your Donation Makes a Direct Impact:

  • $1,650 invested directly to each BGCGS member
  • 4,462 meals served annually
  • Nearly 300 youth served during the 2023/2024 school year (we are projected to serve even more members in 2024/2025)
  • 136 members served in a single day—our highest attendance ever

Support us on Giving Tuesday and help us continue empowering local youth. Every dollar you give today creates opportunities for GREAT FUTURES. Together, we can make a difference!
