Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond (BGCMR)

Help Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond (BGCMR) offer a leadership training program for Petersburg teens this year! 

With your support, 20-25 youth will participate in BGCMR's leadership development program, Petersburg L.I.T., to become ethical leaders who impact change in their community. 

• Teens will engage in three focus areas—leadership development, career/college preparation, and community service/advocacy through the 2022/2023 school year. 
• Youth will create individualized achievement plans, develop postsecondary plans, and explore learning opportunities that foster leadership skills. 
• L.I.T. leaders plan to engage with student groups and experiences at Virginia State University, Podium RVA (a nonprofit empowering youth to become confident, capable writers), Justin J. Davis Heart Foundation (a nonprofit working to educate and raise awareness about Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), Heart Failure (HF) and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)), the Crimson Clinic at Petersburg High School, and the Crater District Health Department. 
• Your gifts will support program transportation, field trips, tours, conferences, service-learning projects, experience execution, program supplies, partnerships, paid internships, and staffing. 
• Once we raise $6,000, we will be in the running to compete for an additional national grant of $50,000. 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond (BGCMR) has served our region's youth for over 65 years. Our mission is to empower young people, especially those from historically marginalized communities, to succeed in life.
