Boys to Men New England Mentoring Network Inc

Boys to Men New England is a revolutionary way of helping teenage boys on their journey to a healthy manhood.  Boys and adult mentors meet regularly in groups to share authentically from their lives and have plenty of fun.  Boys commonly say that the safe, encouraging and nonjudgmental environment we provide lets them talk about things they would not feel able to share elsewhere.  It is also the first time in their lives that they hear adult men sharing openly about the good and bad, ups and downs of their lives as men.  People who meet the boys in our program are typically inspired for the future of our world to see such self-confident, self-expressed young men.

Our program for our boys consists of several parts:
1. Regular group meetings with mentors and boys, typically 3-6 mentors and 4-20 boys
2. A Boys Adventure Weekend that we presently run annually, the next date is August 14-17, see the link http://boystomennewengland.nationbuilder.com/ropa for more details.  In our organization, boys who do this weekend are called 'Journeymen" or "JMen" for short.
3. Boys who have done the Adventure Weekend then come back and help staff it in the future, so they can have the experience of having something to give to the new boys
4. A special mentor training weekend aimed at helping our mentors reconnect with their own teenage selves, where the presence of Journeymen is an essential and critical part of making this training successful.

We have two strong mentor circles at present for boys to join, one in Greenfield MA and the other in Hadley, MA.

If you would like to get more involved, we always need new mentors, as well as people to volunteer in running the organization.  Our board is looking to expand and we'd love to get a lawyer or two, and anyone with experience being on a board and/or with fundraising.  We would also be delighted to help you start a Boys to Men mentoring circle in your community -- you provide a MIMIMUM of 4 committed mentors and we'll help train them!
