Bread of the Mighty Food Bank Inc

Bread of the Mighty Food Bank (BMFB) is the only food bank operation serving Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette and Levy counties.  The industry definition of a food bank is an organization distributing non-perishable goods and some perishable items to other local, non-profit emergency food assistance programs.  Other area food and meal distribution agencies serve individuals and families, while BMFB primarily serves its 160+ agency partners.  BMFB is the only local affiliate with Feeding America.  We operate under best practice guidelines for collecting, storing and distributing food to and through other non-profit agencies.   By supporting BMFB, you help put food in the hands and on the tables of people we serve within our five-county service area.

Nutritious food in adequate amounts is available to member agencies and, hence, available at the right time, in the right place.   We strive to provide timely, adequate and appropriate assistance to those in their time of need.  

For every $1 donated, BMFB can provide up to seven meals.  1.3 pounds of food provides a meal to those in need.  Your support is always needed and appreciated.
