Why support Breathe Utah? Some programming highlights…

• When your children and grandchildren take Driver’s Education, they learn about Utah’s air quality crisis and how cold engine starts, idling, and other transportation choices impact our air. In 2012, Breathe Utah helped draft & pass legislation that added a section on air quality to the state driver’s handbook and high school driver’s education curriculum. With over 70,000 new licenses issued each year, these efforts educate 1000s of Utahns every year.

• Did you know that burning firewood for one hour produces as much air pollution as driving round trip to St. George? In 2014, Breathe Utah received grant funding from UCAIR to address the impact of wood burning on air quality. We are assisting homeowners who rely on burning wood for their only heat source with financing and technical support to move to cleaner, natural gas, heating systems.

• Now in its 7th year, Breathe Utah’s Air Aware Schools program has reached thousands of school children and supplies the next generation with information and strategies to improve our air.  Our line of educational programming and activities are currently expanding to serve a variety of ages and class sizes.
