Bremerton High School Pay It Forward Scholarship

Generational poverty is common in Bremerton, but we believe adequate education/training can break its cycle. BHS PIF Scholarship awards $14,000 scholarships to low income, mid-level students so they can become the first college graduates in their families. We believe these students are totally capable of handling the challenges of college, yet they often are overlooked by other scholarship associations. Our ideal applicant is resilient, has character and is determined to overcome obstacles to obtain further education beyond high school. Each "PIF Scholar" is required to donate 60 hours of Paying It Forward (community service) in exchange for their scholarship. This makes our program benefit the community as well as the individual.
