Bricolage Academy

A nonprofit organization

Bricolage Academy's mission is to advance educational equity by preparing students from diverse backgrounds to be innovators who change the world. Bricolage is a high performing, nonselective charter school in New Orleans. Bricolage opened in New Orleans in August 2013 with a diverse 75-student Kindergarten. This year, we are serving over 960 students in pre-K through 8th grade.

Bricolage is among the most in-demand schools in the city. It is consistently one of the highest performing schools with no admission requirements.

Bricolage has made significant strategic improvements resulting in promising new instructional leadership, transition to Tier 1 curriculum, further development of our wraparound intervention and special education services, expanded our pre-K program to serve 60 pre-k students, developed a robust visual and performing arts program. Our extra-curricular programming is offering championship sports as well as cheer, dance, debate, and choir. Innovation and design thinking reach far beyond the walls of our makerspace classrooms. Last spring, a team of Bricolage middle school students will use their innovation and design thinking skills to compete in the Global Economic Summit in Boston.

Every year, Bricolage raises near 400,000 to support our program. This year, we are seeking additional support to help offset the budget shortfalls affecting schools right now. Public funding alone is not enough to maintain the high-quality education and innovation that Bricolage is known for.

Testimonials

"Bricolage has meant so much to our children and to thousands of children in New Orleans. It truly has been a wonderful place for children to grow and thrive." - Bricolage Parent

"I cannot overstate how much intentional intervention has helped my daughter while at Bricolage... At Bricolage, my daughter immediately began growing in confidence as needs were identified and she could see clear progress...We now have a plan, a path forward for her, that she can be confident in...As I'm sure her teachers can see too, those walls keep slowly down for her the more that she builds confidence. We are so grateful for the intervention services we have received." - Bricolage Parent
