Brooklyn Waldorf School was founded in 2005 and encompasses a nursery, elementary and middle school located on the border of Clinton Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. We serve over 200 families from all over the borough and the rest of New York City too--and we continue to grow, as people seek a more holistic approach to education.

Waldorf schools offer a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, experiential approach to a meaningful education. A Waldorf Education integrates the arts with academics and aims to inspire a life-long appreciation of learning while encouraging students to fully develop their unique capacities. Founded in the early 20th century, Waldorf Education is based on the insights, teachings and principles of education outlined by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner.

Like at most independent schools, tuition alone does not cover the costs of educating our students. Gifts to BWS help cover teacher salaries, classroom supplies and equipment, and allow us to provide our programs and scholarships to a growing community of families.
