Mission:
Brothers in Christ who come alongside of fallen brothers to lift them up, dust them off, and set them back on their path.
We live out our mission so as to:
Gather in Christ’s presence.
Confess our personal feelings and experiences.
Acknowledge our need for God’s help.
Unconditionally accept each other.
Prayerfully support one another.
Provide practical, tangible solutions to difficult problems we face.
Share spiritual principles that make life “work”.
Help reinforce commitment to Jesus, church and family.
Encourage and motivate one another.
Explore our God-given gifts and talents and help match those to gainful employment.
Expect leadership and service of one another.
Promote responsibility for work, security, health, and growth.
Give everyone a mentor, encourager, and an apprentice.
Hold each other accountable to God’s standards.
Cover each other’s backs.
Continually pray for God’s assistance.
Who We Are:
We began through a simple incident that brought five men together in an unexpected way. Phillip, our close brother, richest in faith, spirit, and life, suffered a devastating and debilitating stroke. Led by the Lord’s Spirit we came together in brotherly love to give encouragement and compassion during very dark times. We provided avenues for new employment to keep an income and we tapped innovative financing techniques to avoid home foreclosure. We also discovered a cutting-edge medical treatment-Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) with promising neurologic results for stroke patients. HBOT together with ongoing physical therapy has given Phillip continuing improvement in mobility.
Since our beginning we have reached out in other ways by developing a prison outreach that started with our own brothers who became incarcerated and then we expanded it to others who have learned of our willingness to help. We correspond and offer encouragement, send Bibles and books about Jesus and God’s word, help transition them back into the workforce, and assist with accountability to help move them forward and not revert to the past.
We position ourselves to respond quickly to urgencies that befall others. The men of Brothers of Band of Brothers bring together diverse experiences, resources, and contacts that are employed to help respond to and aid men in need. Our regular sessions together provide meaningful opportunities to review requests for help, outline concrete strategies, and implement a plan.
Testimonials:
“You should know the light of your fellowship and caring, in my eyes, is a living example of the light that Jesus expects us all to shine in the darkness.”
“Thank you and the Brothers of Band of Brothers for all you do to equip us and in making disciples here for Jesus. The Holy Spirit is truly moving behind the razor wire and bars. If you use this place to not only rehabilitate yourself, but build a deeper relationship with God, it can truly be a holy place. Deep down I believe that this is where God makes His apostles, and prophets today, and that prison is a boot camp and training ground for such evangelical work and ministry.”
“By reaching out to a man in prison, who you know nothing about, you have been a candle that illuminates the life God calls us all to live.”
"To tell you the truth! Jesus rescued me from my past life! At times I wasn't a good person! I made so many mistakes! At times I was out of control and hurt people! I was angry, used drugs, and didn't listen to my peers! Truthfully, Jesus saved my life by letting me come to prison and starting a new life! I owe Him everything!”
