Buffalo Blessings

A nonprofit organization

$170 raised by 5 donors

When I first visited the Hopi and Navajo reservations, I was shocked to witness the dire living conditions and poverty that I encountered.  So many people do not have electricity or indoor plumbing; they have to haul water in from miles away.  One- or two-room dwellings are overcrowded with extended family members.  Winters are harsh and fresh food is scarce, not to mention costly.  And this is in the United States of America -- just a six-hour drive away from the lavishness of Las Vegas!  So we founded BUFFALO BLESSINGS.  With great respect and in honor of their beautiful and proud heritage, we endeavor to provide help for our Native American brothers and sisters by taking over 35,000 pounds of food and supplies, every October, to help the people prepare for winter.  By giving a "hand up" with food, materials and supplies that the people need in order to help themselves, we sincerely desire that BUFFALO BLESSINGS will, year after year, offer continuing respect through assistance and positive action.  We are so grateful to Love Utah/Give Utah for this opportunity to have a voice in this important forum.  THANK YOU!
