The Butler County Children's Advocacy Center Inc, aka SAFE HARBOR was established in 1997 as a non-threatening place to interview children that have alleged physical, sexual or emotional abuse or have witnessed crime. It is a concept that has been implemented for fifteen years in our Judicial Circuit that covers Butler, Lowndes and Crenshaw Counties and more recently, Covington Co. We conduct Forensic Interviews/Evaluations, counseling and play therapy at our Center and satelite locations. Safe Harbor also serves as a community liaison between those with needs and those that can meet them. We serve as a resource for domestic violence victims and link them to services provided by the Family Sunshine Center. A monetary gift to Safe Harbor will go to direct services for the children and families that we serve daily. We are excited about this opportunity to be a part of the Alabama Gives Day Campaign~~
