Butterflies BBI  was established in 2012 after our founder, E Blackman, recognized the need for services while volunteering with the American Cancer Society as a stylist in their wig program.While serving, she was inspired by the smiles she would bring to the faces of her clients as she helped them as they dealt with their personal illnesses and decided to bring her services to children. Butterflies BBI is a 501c3 non-profit organization, located in NYC, which provides FREE high quality, age-appropriate hair replacements and solutions to children experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions and treatments. We have a special interest in inner city kids and children of various ethnicities because they are often a group that is overlooked and underserved. Our mission is to help restore normalcy to our clients as they deal with their personal conditions by providing them with the most natural look possible. At Butterflies BBI, we don't discriminate. We also provide sport team caps for boys who are dealing with medical hair loss too. In addition to our hair loss solutions, we also accept hair donations, make home visits and provide transportation (in some cases) in order to make the experience with Butterflies BBI as stressless as possible.

Childhood hair loss is often difficult to deal with because for a kid, it's tough being different. At Butterflies BBI, our goal is to help level the playing field by assisting in creating a sense of normalcy in a cosmetically absorbed society.
