Shoals CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

A nonprofit organization

12 donors

- A six-year old girl rescued from an abuse father only to be bounced around to eight foster homes and six different schools over the course of two years.

- a young boy prescribed 12 difference psychotropic medicines by healthcare professionals who have no access of his medical records or ability to follow-up on his care.

- Four siblings seperated from each other and placed in different foster homes after their mother was jailed for possession of illegal substances.

These are NOT ISOLATED stories.  They are everyday realities of children in the foster care and child welfare system.  A system full of devoted and deeply caring people that is simply too overburdened and under-resourced to meet each and every specific need of vulnerable children.  The SOLUTION: a CASA Volunteer - a specially tained advocate, who fights for the rights of children during this most vulnerable time in their young lives.  HOWEVER, 50% of the children who need a CASA Volunteer do not have one.

We won't rest until we meet the need.  Make a difference in a child's life this year.
