Concho Valley Women Veterans Association

A nonprofit organization

The Concho Valley Women Veterans Association (CVWVA) is organized for the following purposes: - To support women veterans in the local community, - To inspire patriotism and future military service through education, - To serve our community through charitable works.

We are a non-profit organization of women veterans of the United States Armed Forces and the Texas State Guard. We sponsor several events in the San Angelo community to educate on the history of women's service. We actively support other veterans' organizations by providing volunteers and donations for their events. We frequently have guest speakers at our monthly meetings to educate our members on services and other organizations available to them. On Women Veterans Day, 12 June, we ensure that women veterans' graves are honored with either the posting of a flag or placement of a red rose. Since our founding in February 2018, we have participated in the San Angelo Veterans Day Parade and have supported the All-Veterans Council Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for veterans and their families. We regularly support both the San Angelo Women and Family shelter and the Concho Valley Home for Girls. In 2024, we offered our first ever scholarship to a female, high-school senior who has participated in JROTC and received the recommendation of their commander. We are looking forward to hosting our annual SHEROES event and expanding our ability to support our community.

Testimonials

- Although a small organization, the women of the CVWVA have made a definite impression on San Angelo. We can be found at every local Veterans event from Stand-downs to local schools' Veterans Day events. These women veterans can be counted on to advocate for all their fellow veterans!
