What is Community Action?

Community Action was founded in 1964 with the inception of the Economic Opportunity Act.  The main goal of Community Action organizations are to fight poverty and provide guidance and stability to individuals, and families, in need.  

What Does CACEHR Do?

The Community Action Commission of Erie, Huron & Richland Counties, Inc. (CACEHR) provides important programming to the residents of Erie, Huron, & Richland Counties.  The funds raised through the Richland Gives program will be used, exclusively, in Richland County.  Programs available to Richland County residents include HEAP, PIPP, Winter/Summer Crisis, Fuel Funds, Emergency Utility Assistance, Emergency Rent Assistance, Motherhood, Fathers Matter, Employment Training, Financial Literacy, Emergency Transportation, Emergency Clothing Assistance, Senior Nutrition, Essentials Closet, Emergency Home Repair, etc.  We are committed to helping the community we serve and hope that we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

How Will Your Donations be Used?

Your generous donations will be used to provide financial backing to several programs in Richland County including Home Repair/Handicap Accessibility, Fathers Matter, Motherhood, Employment Training, Emergency Transportation, Emergency Utility Assistance, Financial Literacy, and Emergency Clothing.  These programs provide necessary help to low-income families struggling with poverty.  Every dollar donated will be funneled back into local programming.  It's that simple, no fees, no charges for our services, no hidden agenda.  CACEHR is for the people, our programs are for the people, our goal is to make our community stronger and our neighbors productive and successful.

How Else Can You Help?
